The Al Smith Fellowship

Along with nine other writers, I am this year's recipient of a generous grant, the Al Smith Fellowship, from the Kentucky Arts Council. Gratitude to the council for the support they've given to me, as well as to all these writers, not to mention to cultivation of literature.

Loved to Death: cover for the LEO Weekly

My cover story on the Red River Gorge, its volunteer trail crew, and the enormous damage done to the archeological sites of this Kentucky gem. Alex Molina, who I hiked with on my first excursion to the Gorge, is on the cover under massive Gray's Arch.
